Fourth Grade - Mrs. Johnston

This  is my 26th year of teaching. I previously was a special education teacher both here in Ellinwood and in Great Bend. This is my first year in fourth grade but I have been previously one of the first grade and fifth grade teachers. I am married to Kelvin and we have an 18 year-old daughter, Mahra, who is a freshman at Fort Hays State University. I also have three dogs and two cats- Izzy, Lola,  Abbey, Cricket , and Birdie. 

I grew up by a small town in north central Kansas on a farm. I graduated from Barton Community College and Fort Hays State University with both a bachelor's degree in elementary education and a master's degree in special education.

In my spare time I love to be with my family, read books, and go thrifting. 

All of my life, I have loved to work with kids. I knew at an early age that I wanted to be a teacher. Helping others learn is my passion. I love to see kid's faces when they do something they didn't think they could do. It is my goal to love on them and let them know they can do anything!
