Hi! My name is Carrie Merritt. I am excited that I will be teaching at EGS this year! I can't wait to share my love for learning with my students.

I have lived in Ellinwood for 5 years. My husband Craig and I have 2 sons. Cason is a Sophomore at EHS and Coit just graduated from EHS and is working for Watco.

We moved to Ellinwood from central Texas where we had a small farm. We moved to Ellinwood to be close to family.

We share our house with 3 dogs and 2 cats. Our dogs are Daisy(Great Pyrenees), Liezel(German Shephard), and Buck(Dutch Shephard). Our cats are Duncan and Lucky but we call them both Kitty.

I graduated from Texas Woman's University with a Bachelors in Elementary Education and minored in Early Childhood Education. I taught 9 years in First Grade and 6 years in Head Start. In 2007 I became a stay at home mom and homeschooled our boys for 14 years.

In my spare time I enjoy family activities and cheering on the Ellinwood Eagles.
