Library - Mrs. Holmes

Mrs. Holmes' Bio:

I grew up as Sheri Wahlmeier in Norton, Kansas and graduated from Norton Community High School.  I attended Kansas State University and received my BS in Elementary Education in 1990 and my MS in Elementary Education with an endorsement in ESOL in 2000.  I taught MS in Grinnell for 2 years, 3rd grade in Deerfield for 9 years (3 of those years were multi-aged 2nd-3rd), 6th grade in Ellinwood for 3 years, and returned to 3rd grade, for 8 years, one year at 2nd grade, and one year at 4th grade.  I coached volleyball, basketball, and track at various intervals for 19 years.  I retired from coaching to be able to attend my personal childrens' activities.  My family lives in Claflin.  I am married to Toby Holmes, retired HS principal at Central Plain High School.  We have four children, Abby is a Doctor of Physical Therapy; Breanna is a Registered Nurse; Kylie is a teacher, and Tyler is in college studying Ag Mechanics.   We are on the go most evenings, but enjoy when we can take time to go fishing, traveling, or watch a movie together.  We also enjoy spending time with extended family.  I am excited to begin my 11th year as the Director of Library Services!
